OLED(Organic Light Emitting Device)
OLED is a self light-emitting display type that uses the principle of light creation.
When electric current is released on the thin film of fluorescent or phosphorescent organic compound, electrons and hole combine and creat light at the organic compound layey. At this point, the color of light can alter depending on the organic material that forms the light emitting layer(EML). It is thin, light and showing quick responding speed because it does not require a backlight unit(BLU). Chromaticity coordinate and contract ratio is far superior to the previous display types for self light-emitting function.
According to the development of smart phone display, it is expected that OLED technology will be more significant as the next generation display type.
